Martin Albrecht AC FTSE Hon FIE AUST

A prominent Australian businessman experienced in Management and Directorships of Resource, Engineering and Construction Organisations.

Martin was Chairman of Thiess Pty Ltd (having previously been the company’s Chief Executive) and a non executive Director of Leighton Holdings Ltd over a quarter of a century. He is currently Chairman of Exergen and most recently retired as Chairman of Geo dynamics. His wide ranging government and community involvements include chairmanship of the Wesley Research Institute and founding Chair of the International River foundation. Most recently he was appointed to the Federal Government Reconstruction Inspectorate.

Martin was made a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for service to the construction industry, export markets, the engineering profession and the community and is a recipient of the Centenary Medal. He has received the Australian Constructors Association and QUT Distinguished Constructors Awards, Honorary Doctorates from the University of Queensland, QUT University SA, and is an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia.
